The right to education is a universal entitlement to education, a right that is recognized as a human right. According to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights the right to education includes the right to free, compulsory primary education for all. The right to education also includes a responsibility to provide basic education for individuals who have not completed primary education. In addition to these access to education provisions, the right to education encompasses the obligation to rule out discrimination at all levels of the educational system, to set minimum standards and to improve quality of education.

CID calls up School chalo campaign to ensure that nobody is left out from school in their localities. As CID believes that a child out of school child is a potential child labor keeping this consideration, CID regularly organize thgis campaign in the child labor infested area and slums of Gwalior. CID has been undertaking School Chalo project during school admission period since the last few years and our humble grass root level efforts have produced tangible results. Though the Right to Education Act has made education of every child between 6 and 14 year a fundamental right, it still remains as yet another unfulfilled promise. Instead of depending on the bureaucracy alone, both the central and state governments should support the efforts of voluntary organizations in order to fulfill this constitutional obligation.
